The Chief Executive and founder of Afrilema is Dr Dewald Pretorius. He has over 40 years' experience in agricultural and industrial management. Dewald has been instrumental in the development of over 90 land reform and commercial farming projects in Africa from conceptualisation and technical feasibility through to financial management and implementation. Dewald has a Nat Dip Agric (Soil conservation engineering), B Tech (Agricultural management), M-Ent.Dev (Agriculture) and was awarded his PhD in relation to Agricultural Land Reform Projects in South Africa in 2011.
Frans Joubert (BSc-Agric) is a soil scientist, with years of experience as a university lecturer, consultant in Zambia, Uganda and South Africa. Afrilema consult with Frans as associate on all soil matters on projects.

Johan and Angie Genade is a couple who tackled the daunting task of preserving the rhino in Uganda where they run the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Amuka Lodge. Jan Boshoff is a chartered accountant [B Com (Hons), CA (SA)] having practiced for over 35 years in Africa. He has wide knowledge of agricultural managerial accounting and has extensive experience in financial due diligence and audits on various farming enterprises including, in particular, sugar cane projects. Jan is also exceptionally well-travelled in Africa – his familiarity with the continent and its people, coupled with his financial expertise, makes him an indispensable member of the group.
